Below you will find assignments your teacher has provided for your possible Term 1 and

Term 2 enrichment.

Secondary  1 - 5 Physical Education

Assignment #1:

A) Please complete the Google form by April 26th.

B) Please answer the questions below in an email to your Phys. Ed. teacher. 

1. Choose a sport you have done in class.
2. Explain 5 important rules for that sport.
3. What are 3 important skills needed to play the sport?
    For each skill explain two important points to properly perform that skill.
4. Think about your participation in the sport during class.
     What did you do well? What do you need to improve on? Explain.

Assignment #2:

A) Please complete the Google form by May 3rd.

B) Please answer the questions below in an email to your Phys. Ed. teacher. 

1. What does it mean to actively participate in Physical Education classes?
2. Explain 5 benefits you can receive from active participation in class.

Assignment #3:

A) Please complete the Google form by May 10th.

B) Select a Canadian coach or athlete who you believe is a good role model. The person can be a paid professional or an amateur (ie. National level or Olympic athlete) you enjoy(ed) watching. 

C) Provide an overview of this individual's career and what they have accomplished.

D) Explain why this individual is a positive influence on those around him/her (teammates, coaches, players, fans etc)

Assignment #4:

A) Please complete the Google form by May 17th.

B) Please answer the questions below in an email to your Phys Ed teacher.

1. What does it mean to be properly changed for physical activity (both inside and outside of school)? Please give specific examples.

2. Why is it important to be appropriately changed for physical activity? Give and explain at least three (3) different reasons.

Assignment # 5:

A) Please complete the word document below and email it to  your Phys. Ed teacher by May 25.

B) You will need to complete a 1 week sleeping log. The first step to healthy sleeping habits is to identify your current behavior. This requires careful recording of the total amount of sleep you get per day. Fill up all the information in the word document.

C) Do not forget to name 5 strategies to improve your sleep.

D) Open the word document with your PC and not with your mobile.

A) Please complete your weekly activity log (via google form) and answer the questions below (via email to your PE teacher) by June 14th.

1) What is V0Max and why do high level athletes rely on it so heavily for physical testing? Elaborate.

2) What is the formula for one's maximum heart rate and how can heart rate percentage be used to determine the specific benefits of a workout? Explain.
